Julian Khazzouh will return to Sydney after NBA side Golden State decided against taking him on for the 2011/12 season.
Khazzouh scored two points against the Sacramento Kings in his only preseason game with the Warriors on Saturday but will not stay on with the side ahead of their regular-season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas Day.
Sydney hopes to have its centre back in the line-up for Friday night's game against Townsville.
Khazzouh's agent Daniel Moldovan had previously said that the lack of an off-season, caused by the NBA lockout may mean his client would have a better chance in 2012 of joining fellow Australian, Milwaukee Bucks centre Andrew Bogut, in the NBA.
