Former Perth Wildcats centre Luke Nevill has secured a contract with American NBA team the Indiana Pacers.
The 26-year-old 2.18 metre (7 ft, 2 inches) Australian centre has played for the Wildcats and the Melbourne Tigers in the National Basketball League
Nevill had a strong college career in the United States with the University of Utah and was named the Mountain West Conference player of the year in 2008-09.
He joined the Clevelend Cavaliers as a sparring partner for Shaquille O'Neal. He was released by the Cavaliers and played in the D-League with the Utah Flash.
He joined the Melbourne Tigers in 2010 but after limited court time left the Tigers in early 2011 for a stint in Russia before joining the Wildcats for the 2011-12 season.
In 34 games for the Wildcats, Nevill averaged 9.5 points.
He will need to impress the Pacers coaching staff in training camp to secure a permanent place on the roster.
